Life Interrupted, it's not all about me" is without a doubt the best book I have ever read that depicts the challenges of a persons first reaction to hearing the news they are no longer going to be able to do the things they love doing and have done all their lives....run, jump, walk, swim, ride a bike, drive, see, write, feel, and enjoy life as others do. That is like a slap in the face to anyone, but Chris puts his experience down that path in a manner that everyone can relate, disabled or not.

This book is a "must read" for anyone living with a chronic illness. Understanding the dynamics of how a relationship can be either enhanced or ruined by couples facing this crisis, is very important.
From a carefree youth, to finding acceptance of a life-altering illness, Chris has managed to give us his strategies to avoid the pitfalls. It was a hard learned lesson that we can all learn from.

I read your book while I was sick in bed dependent on my husband to give me medicine and remind me to eat and drink. I realized how sweetly and gently he does that. I also realized the way I reacted to him. After reading your book, Life Interrupted, It's Not All about Me, I saw so much of myself in the anger part of being sick. He always bore the brunt of my anger and frustration.
This last exacerbation of this illness that plagues me has been different because of you. Thank you for writing this book. Thank you for opening your heart--good, bad and ugly. The bad and ugly struck me and caused me to make a deli

I am the spouse of a man living with MS. This book opened my eyes to a lot of feelings my husband deals with but also helped me deal with emotions I have as well. Before reading this book I knew that we have a strong marriage. I now realize how fragile that can be when a chronic illness lives with you day in and day out. The author has opened my eyes to many pitfalls that can be avoided by good communication and paying attention to your partner's perspective. I am thankful that the author was willing to share his journey in order to help others. Definitely a must read.

I was touched by the honesty of such a humble man, one who is courageous enough to let the world read about his struggles with his disability, and how God is using this experience to change his life and the lives of others
